Brittany Pavao, M.A LMHC

OCD, ERP, Anxiety & Trauma Therapist

brittany@DonatiCounseling.com

Brittany is a Massachusetts therapist with specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD. She has a particular clinical interest in supporting individuals navigating OCD, intrusive thoughts, anxiety, and the fears and behaviors that can make everyday life feel overwhelming.

Brittany believes therapy is a little like tending to a garden. Sometimes, we need to uncover what has been buried, let go of what is no longer serving us, plant something new, and learn to care for ourselves differently as we grow.

She understands how exhausting it can be to feel caught in cycles of intrusive thoughts, anxiety, reassurance seeking, avoidance, or rituals. Using ERP, an evidence-based treatment for OCD, Brittany helps clients gradually face feared thoughts, feelings, and situations while learning to respond differently to the urge to engage in compulsions.

Her approach is compassionate and practical, creating space to explore these patterns while building confidence in one's ability to navigate uncertainty and discomfort.

In addition to OCD and anxiety, Brittany works with individuals navigating trauma, depression, low self-esteem, boundaries, relationship concerns, and other mental health challenges. She takes an integrative, strengths-based approach to therapy, tailoring treatment to each person's needs, experiences, strengths, and goals rather than expecting everyone to fit the same model. She emphasizes practical strategies that clients can carry beyond the therapy room, supporting greater self-understanding, independence, and meaningful change.

Brittany is also a strong advocate for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing communities and KODA/CODA individuals and families. She is fluent in American Sign Language and is committed to providing therapy that is accessible, inclusive, affirming, and respectful of each client's unique experiences and identity.

Above all, Brittany strives to create a therapeutic space where clients feel safe, comfortable, and understood, even when the work itself feels uncomfortable. She believes meaningful change is possible when we learn to approach ourselves with compassion, build the courage to face what feels difficult, and make room for growth.

Brittany provides virtual therapy throughout Massachusetts, including ERP for OCD and intrusive thoughts, as well as support for anxiety, trauma, depression, self-esteem, boundaries, and relationship concerns.
